I am so excited to use this summer for reading tons of great novels, new and old. I have created a list of the books that I am planning on reading this summer. The ones that I have already read will have my review next to it.
Malibu Rising - Taylor Jenkins Reid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Malibu Rising was another wonderful read by Taylor Jenkins Reid! This book was the best to read on vacation; it was quick, contemporary, and so exciting. Jenkins Reid knows how to write novels about celebrity glamour and the baggage that comes with it while still creating great characters and plot. I give this book four-stars because of the quickness, ease, and character development. There were times when chapters or storylines got dragged out, but in the end it finished in a beautiful and satisfying way.
Beautiful World, Where Are You - Sally Rooney ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“At times I think of human relationships as something soft like sand or water, and by pouring them into particular vessels we give them shape.”
I am halfway through this book and can confidently say that Sally Rooney is one of the best contemporary novelist that I have ever read. While her stories might be looked at as mundane to the average person, that is the beauty of them. She knows how to write the stories of the human spirit so well, it makes you begin to feel as if you are living their life. Through the real conversations between Alice and Eileen, I realize how freeing it can be to question everything around you to find the true meaning of existence. Sally Rooney really gets you thinking philosophically with ALL her books, and that is the beauty!
